Stella’s Story

There are some journeys in life that change everything. For us, that journey began with Steve’s mum, Stella.

Like many families, we found ourselves facing difficult questions we never expected to ask. Was Mum safe living on her own? What support did she need? Where could we turn for advice? And how could we make sure she received the care and dignity she deserved?

What surprised us most was how confusing the care system could be. There was so much information, so much jargon, and so many decisions that seemed impossible to make when emotions were already running high. We spent countless hours researching options, speaking with professionals, attending assessments, and trying to understand what was best for Stella. Some experiences were positive.
